Welcome to the front line of thecommunications revolution. This is the par warrior report. My name isTrevilian in today's report. We're going to getdown and dirty with linked in news letters. Yes, Linkedin has rolled outnewsletters expect a little grand. This is a replay of a recent etin life. Already welcome back to I'm going to call this the Pi Warriorreport. I'm actually just set up one of those news, letterson linked in that everyone's going to hate shortly or love, depending onwhich side of the fence come from called P warrior report and alsoactually thinking about turning that into a podcast as well and capitulatingall the things that are that I'm thinking about talking to people aboutcreating content about and getting it out there in the world for furtherdiscussion. But I just wanted to have...

...this quick rif today, just jump on,because I was actually writing a blog post on PO WARRIOR COM for this and andno doubt a few of you are already aware of linked in newsletters. Now I think, there's going to be a lot of ants about it, but there's some a lot of goodopportunities with linked in newsletters as well. So I thought, let's just jump on quickly and have a quick riff on it and love to hear yourthoughts as well, so basically linked in use. Letters have been around for awhile, but they were only contained to you know big names, I suppose, or allother very people who are, I guess, linked in callinfluences, and so they were, they were just gradually put out and tested, but in more recent days, they're beingrolled completely out. Now, it's not just necessarily in news letters, but you need to havecreate a mode switched on on your on...

...your profile, and this will allow you then,to have access to the newsletter tools as long as you meet linked INS criteria. So let's put all that back in stuff to theone side. For the moment, if you're active on linked in- and youhave a number of quite a few connections, you will notice thatyou're being invited that, in the way, an influx in your in box on Linkedinthat you're being invited to subscribe to people's news letters they linked innewsletters, and I know in my case then I've been asking a few of the my otherfriends on linked in they're, been in undated two now at first blush. Thiswill look like a bit of a gold rush and a bit of a freefor all. But let's just step back for a tick. Why would you do a news letterand and and...

...what what are you going to get out ofit? What are your audience going to get out of it? So number one is the newsleader. Basically it's going to be an article. So, let's you know you caneither create a proper newsletter with multiple articles and stuff or it canbe just one article and you can put videos in etc, etc, so linked innewsletters, just a great way to reach an audience on on Linkedin. Now we knowthat when linked in articles first came out, they so you could. You know it'sbasically linked in blogging platform, it was fantastic and, and the linked inAlgorithm really gave your love on. Linkedin articles really gave your love, and so it made sense to you know it was a great addition to the linked inarmory to to blog on the linked in platform in the form of articles andthen over the journey. The the Algorithm got screwed down andlinked in articles tanked, and that's not just a I they tanked with me and alot of my friends and other colleagues.

They saw their organic reach on linkedin of articles tank and, of course, the plus has been in the feed. You can nowhave three thousand characters, so you can do sort of micro articles or manymany posts in the feed, and they work really really well today as well, butsometimes you know you need more than three sand characters. You want to go abit more in depth on a topic and an article is the best way to go, and youdon't want to set up a blog or anything else, but you, you still want to getyour article out. So newsletters is a great way to do that now. A couple ofthings to look out for you've got to be if you're going into down this path.I'd only be doing it for a number of reasons and number one is you've, gotgreat ideas and insights that you want to share your credible and you reallydo genuine live, want to get your content out in front of the world andstart conversation around insights...

...stories. Lessons learned, you know the world needs really great experts and genuinecredible thought leaders to get out there and start sharing their ideas, their insights and their wisdom. So there's good reason for that, and theother good thing about sorry I'll back track a tick. The other good thingabout linked in news letters is that if people subscribe to you, then they getnotified when you publish a newsletter. So that's why it's good? It's a greatway to cut through the noise- okay, I'm Goin to say that earlier so, but onlydo it. If you really genuinely have got value to deliver- and you want to do itnot only that but you're in it for the longer hole. There's no need and wedon't need another newsletter, jamming up our jamming up our in boxes and for acouple of issues and then and then it dies have a bit of a commitment to goforward with this. And I think what...

...news letters does is actually willprobably for a lot of people, give us a little stiff in our spine a bit andgive us a little bit of impetus to create more content on an ongoing basis.Because if you are committing to a news letter- and you you know linked did notsay, do you want to do it weekly by weekly, which means Fort Nile or I a sort by work to his twice a week. But anyway I'm taking that as Fort Nighly or monthly. Then you commit tothat, and I think that that's a really good discipline and for some peoplethat discipline will be good for them as well. So that's another o reason todo it, and- and thirdly, you know, if you don't just do it,because that it's a free for all, don't just jump on, because it's sexy to doat the moment and and it's a big thing to do- do it because you genuinely wantto create content, you genuinely want to be in it for the long term and, ofcourse, make sure your audience your...

...desired tiger. Audience he's actuallyactive on linked in because, if they're, not don't bother at all so make sureyour audience is on linked in you've got good content to share and you're init. For you know, you want to commit to it for a for a little while as well sothat'd be the three reasons to do one. The reasons not to do one will be to because it's a frater AL, because it'sit's a bit of a gold rush, because this is the reason you're getting all theseinvitations in your linked name in box, and the reason why this is a terrificopportunity is because- and I don't think many of us knew this when we putput out news it- I've been waiting for the news letter function to comethrough for a while now, so it was great to do linked in sends it out to every one from what Ican gather from everyone, I'm talking to linked in as sending that out andinviting people to connect for that. You to subscribe to your toyour news letter out to all your...

...connections and followers, which isreally you know if you've got a lot of followers, that's a really great way toget in front of them, yeah and good way to build your subscribe, a base prettyquickly now I've. I did mine about it. My first issue, which is basically anarticle about a day and a half ago, and already I'm nearly up to a thousandsubscribers and I've spoken to a number of other people who have publishedtheir first newsletter, genuinely published their first news letter andbeen amazed that they're they're really rationing up the subscribers. So youknow clearly there's a great opportunity there, but with opportunity-and with you know getting in front of all those people you're going to getthe quick hit. Merchants, don't be it a quick hid merchant. This is not justjumping on and ruining it for everyone else. If you're committed to it- andyou really have got good content and Youve audience is there and you reallywant to you know, get involved. This is...

...terrific. This is terrific, a great wayto get through to people cut through the noise, a little bitdeliver value and in a respectful way and and build a subscriber base, but ifyou're only going to do it hey. This is a great way to hack the system to getmy name in front of people yeah. They can get to see who I am fantastic. No,if you're not going to commit to it. If you just going to do it, then just notbother creating any content and doing any articles or videos or whatever justdon't do it, because you're run up for everyone else. That's me on my side boxand apologize if I'm ranting a bit, but it's only been a few days and I'malready seeing a couple of people. A number of people are now starting topost. I'm not wrapped with this. I'm not like this. Why am I getting allthese invitations? I don't know who these people are they're, probably connection them, butthey're, probably not someone who you're close to s so- and I understandthat because I see it, I'm trying to...

...see both sides to this story. So theupshot is news. Letters around there. You need to be in cre, create a mode toget them and there's reasons to do that. It's a subject for another video andanother article, but if it is a genuinely good way, weknow newsletters are taking off we've seen sub stack really grow. We've seentwitter by the platform, the newsletter distribution platform called review, that's going well, people are starting to news. Letters are the hot new thing, and hence this would be why I linked in is doing it because they want to jumpin on the action as well and to therefore help help its members, it'speople who use the platform to get the most out of the newsletter. So my finalparting words it's a great opportunity. I'd probably get in sooner rather thanlater, and that's not just jumping in...

...down on the opportunity. That meanspeople are going to get really anse about receiving a lot of invitations tosubscribe. I'M TIPPING! So if you leave it till the wave really hits, then youmight get lost, but if it's still early day, so if you get in now, you mightbuild your subscriber base reasonably quickly, which is a really terrificopportunity that leagued in his providing to its members. But pleaseplease continue to follow the you know the content rules. You know it's a privileged position tobe able to use these tools, to create content, to get in front of an audienceto build an audience and and engage with that community of readers for your for your articles, etc.Respect that and commit- and even if it's monthlymonthly, is not a big ask to go out mostly with a really good article thatyou've thought about and you've. You...

...know you've crafted and you've put outthere, and I think, if you you know, do the right thing and and what the wayit's intended, generating good content and being regular with that content that you'll find that a linkednewsletter is a welcome addition to your content, marketing arsenal. Anyway. That's me: I've been on a sod box today, I'm writing an article on it on P,Worrioo you'll be able to check it out, but I'm basically saying the same sortsof things so leave a comment. I'd love to know whatyou're thinking are a. are you being inundated with invitations, but is itannoying or you're or cool with it, because you know there's some reallygood opportunities to subscribe to people'scontent of people who you like and buddy sorry be ously whatever it is. So are you are you getting in on data?Is that one thing are you thinking of...

...doing it and what do you think of theconcept of the linked in newsletter hi, Karen thanks very much yes, do you feel consistency is crucial.I frequently miss a a ball. What is a ball, but I won'tcompromise on quality. That's it. I look, I'm really. I think that theconsistency thing is absolutely critical. You know, if you miss it on the day,it's not the end of the world. Absolutely I mean I think it podcasting.Absolutely we really really really need to. You know hit that mark every time, but on a newsletter, that's fortnightly or monthly. You know if you're going tomiss it by a little bit. That's not the end of the world, but I think thediscipline is really good for some people so get into the comments. I'm reallyinterested to hear what people say about this. Are you annoyed with it? Doyou think it's a good opportunity?...

Where do you sit on the whole on the whole, linked newslettersituation, Chez.
